Commands
Run commands and insert content from inside a note
Slash commands
Type / to open the menu. Depending on the note kind, it offers commands and
content to insert, such as a rulebook, extraction, or Form field.
The six commands below run when you select them and leave a receipt recording the result. Receipts are skipped when a Task runs. Content inserted from the menu remains part of the note; it is not a command receipt.
| Command | What it does | Needs |
|---|---|---|
/create document | Creates a document and links it here | A name |
/invite | Sends an invitation to join the organisation as a legal member | An email address; organisation owner access |
/reminder | Creates a reminder | What to be reminded about, and when |
/schedule | Schedules this Task to run | When — "tomorrow at 9am", "every Friday at 10am" |
/find | Searches the resource types available to this note and records the match count | What to look for |
/deactivate | Turns an activated note back into a draft | — |
Receipts
Running a command leaves a receipt in the body — a line recording what was asked and what happened. The receipt is the log, not the program: a run reads the note's steps and skips its receipts, so a command never becomes work.
A receipt carries a status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| pending | Sent, waiting to hear back |
| ok | It happened |
| failed | It did not happen, and Seraa knows why |
| unknown | The request could not be confirmed either way |
That last one is deliberate. If the connection drops after a command is sent, Seraa will not claim success it cannot verify, and it will not claim failure that may have gone through. It says it does not know, so you can check rather than guess.
The argument is validated before the command runs. Type /schedule with nothing
after it and the menu tells you what is missing instead of offering an action
that cannot work. Commands that change workspace data are checked again on the server.
/find uses the editor's workspace search.
Which notes offer which
Not every command makes sense everywhere, so the / menu differs by
kind:
/findis available in every kind of note./scheduleis only in a Task — it is the only kind that runs./create documentis in Task, Report and General notes./inviteand/reminderare also available in Form notes./deactivateis in the kinds that activate: Task, Report and Form.
Scheduling is explicit
Writing "every Friday" in a statement does not schedule anything. Prose is the
instruction a step follows, not a trigger. A Task runs on a schedule because
someone used /schedule and Seraa confirmed the time it understood. Activate
the Task and resolve its people and required values before scheduling it.
Check the receipt's date, time, and timezone.
/invite sends an organisation invitation; it does not grant access only to
the current note. Human handoffs are a separate way to give a recipient the
access needed to act on assigned work.
You can also ask the assistant to create reminders. Merely writing a date in a note does not confirm that a reminder or schedule has been created.
